Kirsten Villamor

Teacher – Shooting Stars | 3.5 – 5 year olds
Leadership and Management, Bachelor of Elementary Education major in Special Education, Graduate Diploma in Applied Management

Kia Ora! My name is Kirsten and I am originally from the Philippines. I have been here in New Zealand since 2018 and have completed a Graduate Diploma in Applied Management. In the Philippines, I completed my Bachelor of Elementary Education major in Special Education at University of Santo Tomas.

After my graduation I worked as a licensed professional Preschool teacher at Torch of Life Academy for three years. Together with my assistant teacher, we facilitated engaging activities for the learning and development of the children ages 3-4 years old.

I am passionate about teaching children and being a facilitator of their own growth and development. I believe that play is an essential part of their learning and that they have their own languages and phases in being competent and capable independent learners.

I absolutely love my job as every day you get to see and learn a lot from the children and their families. It is very fulfilling. When I came to New Zealand in 2018 I studied toward a different career path. But the passion I have for teaching and love for children drew be back to a career in Early Childhood Education. I am really grateful to have this opportunity to continue my passion at Reach for the Stars and look forward to meeting and getting to know you and your children.
