The Preschool room is a learning environment designed to extend upon the skills and concepts your child has already gained. The Preschool provides a programme that aims to ensure the transition in your child’s learning journey is smooth and a pleasant experience. We offer a routine that sees each child developing holistically at a pace they are comfortable with. Children have the opportunity to explore their current interests through both planned and spontaneous activities and learning experiences. We have two mat times each day and a group time. The group time enable teachers to work alongside a small group of children to expose and challenge them in developing fundamental skills and concepts that assist their transition to Primary School. This time is valuable for teachers to gain an in-depth understanding of each child’s individual development and allows them to plan accordingly.
In the Preschool you can expect your child to be part of an environment that:
Working with Pre-schoolers has seen me discover my true passion in ensuring the children that leave reach for the stars enter school capable and confident learners and explorers. I believe every child should have equal opportunities for learning appropriate to ages and stages of development. I value parent contribution and enjoy working alongside families to ensure each child receives high quality care and education.

I've always had a passion for working with children, before starting here I was a nanny for a few years, and also worked at an after school care program. Working in a childcare centre has always been my dream job. I'm very happy to be here, and feel honoured to be a part of the family here at Reach For The Stars.
Hello! My name is Katie. I graduated from AUT in 2015 with a Bachelor of Education (Primary) specialising in Montessori.
I was born and raised on the North Shore, along with my younger brother. In my spare time I like spending time with my family and friends, travelling and learning new things.
I am passionate about teaching because I believe there is nothing better than guiding young minds as they develop and learn to navigate their way through life.
I believe that very child is an individual and should be treated as such, to help them reach their potential as individual children and allowing them the structured freedom to express themselves as individuals.
I’m beyond excited to start this journey with you all!
